Greenwood Commons Condo Interior

This compact apartment, with a total area of less than 750 square feet, demonstrates how thoughtful space planning during the early stages of interior design can create a highly functional and comfortable living environment.

At the outset of the project, the client provided a conventional one-bedroom apartment layout consisting of a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. While the original floor plan was relatively efficient, it also offered a valuable opportunity rarely found in many modern “micro” or “smart” apartments—a dedicated area that could accommodate a mudroom/ closet.

Despite these advantages, the standard layout did not fully align with our design vision. Our objective was to create a space that would be both versatile and adaptable, meeting the needs of a wide range of occupants while maximizing comfort and functionality. Before beginning the design process, we established a set of core planning principles to guide every decision and ensure the final layout achieved the highest level of efficiency, usability, and livability.
